Welcome to
The Road to Death Faire
The journey begins before the Faire...
Before the stages come alive, the tents rise beneath the trees, and the community altar takes shape, the spirit of Death Faire is already stirring. The Road to Death Faire is a series of gatherings that invite us to slow down, lean in, and begin the journey together.
Along the way you'll find workshops, song circles, films, art, and moments of quiet reflection—each one an invitation to explore, connect, and wonder.
Come to one gathering or wander through them all. Follow your curiosity, meet kindred spirits, and discover that sometimes the journey itself is part of the destination.
We look forward to meeting you along the road.
Grief, Love & Joy
Singing from the Heart
with Kathleen Hannan

As a special event leading up to the 11th Annual Death Faire on November 7, heart2heartnc is delighted to welcome Kathleen Hannan for a moving and uplifting song circle rooted in community, embodiment, and the wisdom of the heart.
Kathleen is the founder and director of the Bodies, Voices & Spirit Community Chorus in the NC Triangle. She is an Alexander Technique teacher, a North Carolina Arts Council Songwriter Fellowship recipient, a certified Dances of Universal Peace leader, and a lifelong student of the Heart. For more than 60 years, Kathleen has been writing, collecting, and sharing beautiful songs that invite connection, healing, and joy among people of all ages.
In this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn simple, heart-opening songs and circle dances that celebrate our love of and kinship with the natural world while making space for grief—honoring loss, tenderness, remembrance, and the many emotions that arise around death and transition. The dances are simple circle dances with song, many drawn from the Dances of Universal Peace repertoire. Some people dance on their feet, and some dance from their chairs—whatever your body wants to do is welcome. Kathleen’s teaching style integrates music, movement, embodiment, and the whole body as a vessel for carrying the voice forward.
Together, we will meet ourselves right where we are, explore the true nature we share with all beings, and experience the joy, comfort, and beauty of singing in community. Workshop notes, lyrics, and links to recordings of the songs will be sent to participants after class.
The cost to attend this event is $25 and registration is required. Please pay online or at the door. If you should need financial support to attend this workshop, please make that request by sending an email to listeningtoyoursoul@gmail.com prior to registering.
