Welcome to Death Faire: Love, Loss, and Healing in a Small Southern Town—a soulful collection of stories, poems, and images born from one town’s bold embrace of life, death, and everything in between. What began as a community gathering transformed by grief has grown into a movement that honors death as part of living fully.

This book invites you to face loss with honesty, discover unexpected healing, and celebrate the beauty of it all.

Join us at Forest Hall in Chatham Mills, downtown Pittsboro, for an evening that is part church service, part book and poetry reading, part community sing-along—and entirely a celebration of spirit and connection.

The program will feature:

  • Tami Schwerin, Curator

  • Lyle Estill

  • Gary Phillips

  • Music by Arlo Estill and friends

  • Stories from Karen Howard, Adrian Moreno, Pepe Caudillo, Godi Godar, Jessalyn Kiesa, Frank Phoenix, Matt Zemon, Jennifer Hansen and Cathy Brooksie Edwards

  • Poetry by Carrboro Poet Laureate, Liza Wolff-Francis and Paul Jones

The evening will close with book signings and shared community spirit. Come be part of this magical night.
